The Sportsman Inc. is an outdoor outfitter on Highway 1 in Greenville, Mississippi, in the heart of the Delta. They carry firearms and ammunition, hunting and fishing gear, boots, and outdoor apparel from brands including Sitka, Drake, Carhartt, YETI, and Costa Del Mar.
Our Approach
This was deliberately not built as an online store. The Sportsman's advantage is the counter — staff who know the water, the season, and the customer by name. A checkout flow would have competed with the thing that actually makes the business work. So the site is built to get people through the door and on the phone: show the depth of the inventory, prove the brand credibility, and make the address, hours, and phone number impossible to miss.
What We Built
Category browsing across Guns & Ammo, Hunting, Fishing, Boots, and Apparel, plus a dedicated Brands section that does real work in a category where shoppers search by brand before they search by product. An events calendar carries the seminars and workshops that bring the community into the store, backed by newsletter signup and Facebook integration to keep that audience warm between visits. Store hours, address, and phone sit prominently throughout — the site's primary conversion is a visit, not a transaction.
